Where will we hold our session? Where your session is held depends a lot on your style. We will have a phone/email consultation to figure out the right location for your family and one that will coordinate with your home decor. Central Ohio is filled with many great locations from metro parks to electric urban areas. I have a few private areas as well.
What about Newborn sessions? Newborns sessions are primarily held at my home studio. This is where we have access to fun props, fabrics, controlled lighting and heaters. Though, on-location newborn sessions are available by request.
When should we do my maternity session/pregnancy photos? The best time to photograph maternity, is around the 32-36th week.
How do you schedule a newborn session when the baby hasn’t arrived?
The session is scheduled tentatively for a week after your due date. I’ll ask for weekly updates as you get closer to delivery. When baby does arrive, contact me as soon as you can, and we can confirm the date or adjust if necessary. Newborn sessions are always held within 2 weeks of baby’s birth. Make sure you book your session while you are still pregnant to make sure I can get you on the calendar!
Do I need to buy props for my newborn session? Not at all. I have a fully stocked stash of props and accessories. While I really love the simple set ups, I do love seeing a baby in a vintage crate or a hand-made headband. Of course though you are welcome to bring items too. Sentimental items from the family often make for very emotional photos.
What are your family sessions like, what do we wear?
Family sessions are filled with lots of silliness. We laugh, play, tickle and capture those real smiles. Gone are the days of formal poses and stiff backs. At one of my photo sessions you are encouraged to love on your family. After all, isn’t that the emotion you want captured? Your clothing should reflect your personalities and of course your skin tones. I have a special Pinterest page of “What to Wear” for photo session that may help. You are welcome to send me photos of clothing possibilities too. I love to help plan for the session. Most importantly is to have fun with it.
Will you photograph weddings? I take a limited number of weddings each year. Please inquire via email.
