Such a little charmer, Mason freely shared his smiles and his oh-so-sweet personality. I just loved how expressive he was. Click here to see what a sweet little newborn he was almost a year ago. Where does the time go?

And here’s a little confession that I am not sure anyone has picked up on, yet . My eyes get a little watery when I see all my clients kids again, when I meet their new siblings and when I see what amazing children they have all become.  It is a blessing to watch through the years and be a small part other families a few times a year.  I am like the lucky aunt. I get to play and love on the kids then give them back when I am done!

And Austin here… geesh. What a handsome lil man with the sweetest dimples!  Our session was a bit of a humorous calamity.  Moved once due to Pink Eye.  Had a fun little cake smash. Then off to a nearby field for some birthday balloon pics. Well the wind had other plans and after a few popped balloons we headed back to the studio.  Austin being the good-natured guy he is,  took it all in stride.  Phew….

Pop! And he didn’t even flinch.

Believe it or not, it is rare for me to do photo sessions with my own children. I have two set sessions a year, a beach and then a fall photo. That’s it.  I need to try and get better about capturing our own everyday happenings. A few of my friends do a project called 365 where they take a photo a day to capture just the ordinary stuff. Their photos are quite inspirational and the moments they capture are true treasures. While I know I can’t do a photo a day, you will see more of the everyday stuff with my family more often as I work to capture our own memories.

But back to Max… We had the session at the Scioto Mile fountains. What a neat place. I have been really curious to see how this area would work for client photo sessions. It has a nice urban feel with the skyline in the background (tonight there was construction going on so we shot in the other direction).  I can see little ones prancing around in the fountains on a warm summer day.  Or families walking down the brick pathways along the “mile”.  This will be a fun location just like the Arena District sessions to capture a slice of life in Columbus.

I hope to go back when the night isn’t so cold/windy to showcase some of the other areas that would be fun to photograph.  ~Lori

Quite the early bird, coming into this world 6 weeks ahead of schedule. Guess he knew what loving parents awaited his arrival.

Sloan breezed through his photo session with hardly a grumble unless … he was laid on his back.  And really, there was very minimal clean-up.  Such an easy baby.  Moved from pose to pose, hat to hat like a supermodel.  Though, I am thinking about gifting his parents with a few buckets to lull him to sleep at night, as that is where he truly was most comfortable.  :)

Thank you A and S for bring Sloan to me. I really enjoyed our session and chatting with the two of you.
